Koops designed and built 5
Robotic Cloth-Handling Cells, which integrated with an adjoining injection
molding press. The task was to design a system that would reliably deliver cloth blanks to the
molding process, and then convey the
molded parts to the operator.
The Cells were full integrated
(mechanically and electrically)
with the existing molding
systems, on the customer's
floor.
The features of this project included:
- Unique guarding system with
full safety integration
- Cloth transfer
shuttle tables
- Part unload conveyor
- End-of-arm tools with needle grippers for cloth
- Tool identification feedback for robot
- Total design, build
and integration of control system
