Koops Inc, designed and built a system for pre-heating form tools in preparation for production runs. The system accommodates two sets of tools in the same enclosure. Each tool weighed 35,000 lbs (15,876kg) for a total mass of 70,000 lbs (31,752 kg) The tasks include engineering an efficient heat transfer system for heating a tool in 2 hours or less, designing a reliable and safe tool handling system, and installing the total system in an automotive Tier One manufacturing facility.
